"Woven baskets characterized by a particular distinctive pattern have previously been found only in the immediate vicinity of the prehistoric village of Palea and therefore were believed to have been made only by the Palean people. Recently, however, archaeologists discovered such a "Palean" basket in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River from Palea. The Brim River is very deep and broad, and so the ancient Paleans could have crossed it only by boat, and no Palean boats have been found. Thus it follows that the so-called Palean baskets were not uniquely Palean"

I do not agree with author's argument that since no Palean boats were found that is why the "Palean" basket was also made by the people of Lithos across the Brim river.Archaeologists could not discover any transport medium can not guarantee that the "Palean" basket was also designed by people of Lithos.

Though the author claims that river is so deep and broad that one need to have some transport medium between the villages.but at the same time the possibility of Palean people going across the river by swimming themselves can not be denied.

Author also not clarified that whether Lithos boats were discovered or not .So there is a strong possibility that people of Lithos might be travelling across Brim River and buying the Palean Basket and other items from Palea village.

The authors justification for declaring Palean Basket are not unique is not strong enough . Infact it found to be incomplete and need more information as described in above paragraph.

I partially agree with the author's statement because ,to become acquaint with the modern day convenience and luxury also require an accomplished brain .but at same time they provide an easy mean which make an individual to skip his natural physical and mental efforts.

for example these days electronic gadget computer ,mobiles ,Internet services all make our work faster .Be it banking ,ticket booking ,getting a service in a remote area,social networking ,or getting knowledge and information about particular topic all can be done in a jiffy .
To well verse with computer jargon and to use it for good purpose requires a good aptitude and logical brain . I would rather categories these things as essential luxuries of modern times which make a person more efficient in executing his task and daily routine life .

But their use beyond a certain extent make a person quite dependable on these gadgets. For example students who carried out his math’s assignment and if he uses computer or calculator to do quickly his home work .He will loose his inherent capabilities ,of logic, aptitude and reasoning .After all human brain is ,who has designed the computer and becoming slave to the same machine is really dangerous to an individual's natural innovative brain capabilities.These days school student carry out their assignments on computer tools so what they loosing is their own hand writing skill ,which is in true sense an art. Even in artistic areas computers use has increased a lot ,and an individuals natural and unique creative power is taking back seat .

On the other hand having a luxury car , a posh mansion to live ,splurging money for enjoyment like clubs ,parties, discothèques all are part of superfluous requirements of basic living.These luxuries make a person ,hedonistic .A person probably having a bicycle will carry out his daily chores by using his bicycle in near by area may be 3-5 kilometers area on the contrary a person who is having a car may become addict to his facility and even to move a mile he need always a car.

So what i bring out from this discussion is luxuries and convenience of contemporary time should be used as companion of man kind.So where ever possible human being should execute his task himself and where ever it is beyond human capabilities ,and time is really a constraint these gadgets should come in picture .Then in true sense a person will be a strong and independent individual ,where he is master of his gadgets and facilities rather than a gradually diminishing slave.

It is true that major chunk of energy sources are in control of a few countries like Russia ,Middle East countries ,or OPEC nations .and as the demand increases globally due to rise in population or different kind of energy consuming equipments these resources will deplete with drastic pace.

These days the best way out to drive any equipment is definately electricity with least pollution

but to generate electricity the basic fuel will be natural gas ,coal or enriched uraniuam all are being mined from womb of earth with rapid pace to meet energy demands which always remain one step ahead of the supply possible.

Now there are two ways to fill this gap between demand and supply either we explore new frontiers by using renewable energy sources like tidal energy,solar energy,bio gas fuel wind power etc. or we limit our consumption in such a way that this question of scarcity never arise.

Going with renewable energy sources first of all they are very inefficient as low as 2% is convertible ratio to energy.The euipment required to produce the energy need a exhaustive research work to bring them at realistic level. One of major thing is geographical conditions of a particular place play a decisive role whether renewable energy source are available there in sufficient amount or not .Only a very minor plus point of these resources is if they are available they are in abundance and they are for free and probably never ending like solar energy.

Now comes the point of self descipline ,self constraints that we ourselves become cautious and use energy resources economically.For small euipments use solar panels for water heating,street lights etc. Hybrid vehicle which can run on electricity, use car pooling and other ways to save parallel fuel consumption.

But all this responsibility is always on those countries which are already have minimal energy resources and struggling to cope with there basic need of day to day basis may be a single bulb at night and a fan. In India there is thousands villages where till even now there is no electricity or not adequate supply for regular basis.

The country like China who also have limited energy resources and vast population probably believe in self dignity that she put strict regulations on her citizen to fulfill there requirement with available resources for long term .There are strict car pooling instructions in major metro cities ,infrastructure being developed for mass rapid trains ,road are being developed with international standards to save fuel from transport vehicles,emphasis being given on the use of fast train network on long distances which run on electricity.

To improve the efficiency of industries in consumption of energy there is a big need of research and development of quality equipments and country like China investing a lot for this purpose taking in to account long term perspective.But probably all this is possible when a country give priority to the benefit of whole populations rather then a few individual or capitalists.And this is possible in country like China where rules are rather implemented and executed strictly . May be in precise terms communalism rather then socialism help to achieve these goals.

One the other hand developed countries like America (the so called super power) where mind set is mainly capitalist ,which consumes almost 20% of entire world energy consumption every year and probably pollute the whole world more than any other nation on globe, also dictates the rules ,terms and conditions to be imposed on mainly third world countries ,developing or under developed nations that how they will use their own resources or how they are responsible for polluting environment.May be by using facade of United Nations or depriving by imposing sanctions on vital resources for them.The USA has a dubious or double standard for any global issue when it is concern of there intrest the rule regulations goes her way ,when it comes for others interest then this nation become the preecher of almost ideal condition and claims to be saviour of whole earth.

And sometimes to go beyond its requirements probably fullfill her greed it follows mallicious intentions to invade a natural resource rich nation like Iraq .

Countries of european union although indirectly dependent on OPEC nations or Russia for fullfilling their energy requirments but population of these countries in total is far less as compare to India ,China and USA and they are firm beliver in continuous technology improvment in their equipments and vehicles with best standards in the world be it EURO 5 or other.

So after this elaboration what i believe is the G-20 nations at least ,with consortium of OPEC nations should sit together taking into account the optimum interest of every voluminous economy with population ,geographical conditions or availability of resources chalk out a internationally acceptable road map or regulations to conserve energy and best possible use of available resources. Keeping away the self interests of individual nation which can hamper the prosperity of others.

At last there should be a mid way between socialism and communalism and capitalism is strictly

no no.Socialism should be with out corruption and communalism should be with out inhuman treatment of manekind.Then only the conservation of resources can be achieved with collective effort of entire world countries.

Each countary each society have there own culture own way of communicationg ,they have their own social taboos and their own fuss about certain issue.The upbringing ,openness of a social system decide whether what is offensive langauage or behaviour or content of programme on electronic media .

Take a very crude example in India at a public place showing off love affection between opposite sex is strictly no no,in western countaries it is encouraged rather people enjoy it.In India it is rather hypocrasy, the people who object on all these issues by taking the guard of social norms

They themselves violated them by some way or other by so called moral policing and by humilating females unabashed.which is rather henious.

In India or Islamic countaries programme ,movies, etc are censored for offensive language.One reason which seems genuine is it gives wrong effect on our innocent new generation of childlren and they should be kept away from all this vulgarity .

On the other hand by adult people showing dissident on objectionable content which has been created by one of there contemporary person and occasionally, it exposes the bitter truth of the certain issue while presenting things as they are happened.This is one of our right to information as well as freedom of speech.But same time these contents should not provoke any wrong sentiment to a multi ethinic population of a countary which is very much applicable for a democratic country.

some time a truth which can be harmful for peace and harmony of a nation should not be expressed in public domain particularly in its visual representation which make a deep negative impact on innocent ,unbiased mindset of young generation.In these kind of situations censorship is justified and govt. control and regulation on media is genuine but govts. should not abstain from telling truth in indirect ways.This is the right of the citizen of their country to know reality.

In middle east countaries which are more or less pure Islamic nations have very high restrictions on women liberty of any kind ,they are bound to follow strict Islamic code of conduct but same time those imposers of this code of conducts very much enjoy bollywood movies ,hosting events on similar kind for entertainment.

So sometimes the censorship of a country's electronic media is in control of few handful of hypocrites.

A content of a programme if divulge the truth with out effecting sentiments of a particular community or individual and not putting any negative impact on innocent minds of budding generation then only it is a right kind of censorship.

However in case of children it is a moral and necessary responsibility of their parents or gardians that they never let the children get expose to any wrong kind of content through electronic media which make a negative impact on their psyche.

Western countries where censorship is very limited their people are more prone to indulge in crime and severity of commiting it is more intense. Recently we have heard about lot of frequent school ,college shootouts where adolescent teenagers try to mimic what is shown in a irated violance in a movie ,tele serial or even in an ad film of a product.

It is true that harsh realities faced by an individual compel him to choose right or wrong path in future course of life according to circumtances.

So the censorship on media content to be limited in such a manner that it awaken the massage rather than provoking them for some mindless act.

But at last the big question remain who will draw the thin line between censoring a wrong content and hiding a vital information or fact which is to be known by every one??
